About Us
Founded in 1998 and located in Mount Prospect, Illinois, Crestwood Associates is the premier Gold Certified Microsoft Dynamics Partner in Chicago. Crestwood partners with our clients to deliver comprehensive enterprise business solutions that support their business strategies. We focus exclusively on delivering Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) and Microsoft Dynamics CRM applications and we’ve implemented solutions for some of the largest and fastest-growing middle market businesses. From accounting and financial reporting, to CRM, manufacturing, distribution, payroll and human resources, we provide the tools and quality services that help businesses perform above and beyond the competition.
The Crestwood team is comprised of seasoned, highly trained, certified professionals who provide in-depth industry experience and functional expertise. Focused execution by skilled professionals enables us to deliver robust solutions in an efficient and effective manner.
Our service offerings cover the full-breadth of enterprise application projects, from the initial sale of the application, through implementation of the solution, training of the end user, and providing ongoing technical support. As a result of our Microsoft certifications, Crestwood can deliver solutions across the three critical axes of technology services, including business applications like Dynamics GP and Dynamics CRM, the Microsoft SQL Server database platform, and the underlying Microsoft network infrastructure. This expertise enables Crestwood to deliver and support a comprehensive Microsoft solution and provides the ability for our consultants to identify and fix the root cause of any technology problem.
Management Team
Brian J. McGuckin – Director of Business Development and Co-Founder
Brian has a diverse background and brings a unique perspective and level of energy to Crestwood that has helped drive the organization to deliver excellence. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Brian was a nuclear submarine officer in the U.S. Navy. During his tenure in the Navy, he received a master equivalent degree in nuclear engineering and served on two submarines. While completing his final tour of duty, Brian attended the University of Chicago and received an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Accounting.
After leaving the service, Brian joined the consulting firm of Ernst & Young LLP as a consultant in the Strategic Advisory Services practice. Brian’s focus at E&Y was in the development of valuation models, operating models, and strategic growth plans for Fortune 500 organizations.
After three years, Brian left E&Y with Tim Thompson to start Crestwood and capitalize on the opportunity to deliver a suite of consulting services to the under-served small and middle market.
Timothy J. Thompson – Director of Account Services and Co-Founder
Tim has a unique career path that has provided him with a wealth of experience working with individuals and companies across the U.S. Tim graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BA in Business Administration, Accountancy and began his career in the audit practice of Deloitte & Touche LLP. After earning his CPA in the State of Illinois, Tim left D&T to serve as a volunteer teacher on the Navajo Indian reservation in western New Mexico.
After completing his teaching assignment, Tim attended Indiana University and received an MBA with a concentration in Small Business Development. Upon graduation, Tim joined the Entrepreneurial Consulting practice of Ernst & Young LLP and focused on delivering Lawson and PeopleSoft ERP solutions to the middle market.
Tim’s ERP experience enabled Crestwood to quickly become certified as a Great Plains Software partner (prior to the acquisition of Great Plains Software by Microsoft) and to successfully implement the organization’s first Great Plains projects.
